Becoming a Yoga Teacher

Yoga has started becoming a global phenomenon.  Even if it is not a formal practice like the way it is in India, Nepal, or Thailand, it is still recognized by anyone you stop and talk to on the street about it. Yoga studios have started popping up in major cities around the world, and you will find a lot of great teachers that are passionate about their job. If you enjoy yoga and also want to make a profession about it, then you too can become a yoga teacher/instructor. Of course, this does mean that you have to first rack up some credentials, and if you are looking for certified teacher training programs, you can look into the YTT Yoga School and see what they are currently offering.

A yoga teacher might seem like an easy job, but if you are looking to have your own studio space, then there will be a lot of work going on behind the scenes as well. Being an entrepreneur of any kind comes with a lot of struggle and hard work, and it might take a long time before you start stabilizing your income, but it is worth it once you do make it.

A good yoga teacher is patient and helps their students tune into their mind and body as they practice yoga. Understanding when to push and when to stop someone from overdoing it is a delicate balance that only good teachers can manage. You can specialize in a specific type of yoga practice, and look to cater to specific age groups or special populations that some yoga institutes do. In the end, you have to decide what speaks to you and what you think you will enjoy doing and do properly. So, take your time, gather up the experience, and then leap.
